Hey y’all! I’m so excited to talk about one of my favorite things in the world. My Amazon Prime account. I know. I know. A little nerdy. But it’s so convenient to just find what I need, order it, then it arrives in two days.

But I don’t have to tell you how great Amazon is right? I would bet that you’ve already been an Amazon Prime member for a while now.

I’m also willing to put my money where my mouth is though. Because I’m also willing to bet that you may not have known about at least some of these perks of your Prime account.

Actually, when I started researching for this post I found several more perks that I didn’t even know about. I’m pretty stoked to try some of them out myself.

  1. 30 Day Free Trial

If you aren’t a prime member and have been wanting to try it, this is a perfect perk for you. You can sign up and order until your hearts content for the next thirty days.

When I first signed up for prime, which was about 6 years ago or so, I started with a free trial. & like Amazon does, they hooked me.

I order everything from Amazon. From Christmas presents to cat food.

Then it’s delivered to my door & I don’t have to go anywhere. Sign up through my like & get your free 30-day trial here.

  1. Freebie Perks included with your subscription

  • Prime Delivery

Okay, so I’m sure you know about this one. It’s Amazon’s main selling point for the Prime. Most everything I order has Prime shipping and I get it in 2 days.

Personally, for me the free shipping makes the cost of Prime is worth it completely on its own. This year I covered the cost of our membership when I bought my heatpress.

  • Prime Rewards

Earn cash back with the AmazonPrime Visa Signature or AmazonPrime store card. Both of these credit cards have no annual fees or earning caps. Plus, they offer 5% cash back on Amazon purchases, 2% Cashback on restaurants, gas stations and drugstores and 1% cash back on all other purchases

  • Prime Video

Unlimited streaming of tons of movies and TV episodes. I’ll admit. I forgot about this sometimes. But they usually have a great selection, especially for movies.

  • Prime Music

This is big. It’s AD FREE & doesn’t cost you an extra monthly charge like some others do. There are nearly 2 million songs & Amazon continues to grow this selection.

  • Prime Reading

This gives you access to over 1,000 Kindle ebooks that are hand-picked by the editors from Amazon just for you.

Don’t have a Kindle device? No problem. You can download the free Kindle app here and use it on your cell phone or tablet.

  • Twitch Prime

This was an interesting find. Twitch Prime is a game streaming service which provides free game content each month.

  • Prime Early Access

This gives you early access to the lightning deals that Amazon has each day.

  • Prime Photo

Free unlimited photo storage. I had no idea about this benefit and I’m so excited to take advantage of it. As a newbie blogger who is on the go a lot, it’s helpful to have the photos I want to post right at my fingertips.

  • Household

This is an awesome feature. My husband and I both use our Amazon Prime account but since I signed up for the household account, we have 1 account with separate logins. So I can order gifts for him without him seeing.

3. Money Saving Benefits

Now I know some of those are already money saving. Hello free delivery, ebooks and cashback.

But there are a number of other benefits that help cut the costs of things. And I mean if we’re going to spend $99/year, let’s get the most bang for our buck.

Amazon Student Membership

I was in college when I first signed up for Prime. I wasn’t making a ton of money so when I discovered that I could get a Prime membership at 50% off I was sold.

There aren’t as many perks as a full membership obviously but when I was in college free shipping and textbook rentals were really all I used it for.

Textbook Rentals

Speaking of. I save a ton of money by renting my textbooks in college vs buying. The best part about getting them from Amazon was that since I had prime, no extra shipping cost.

I would get books for a fraction of the cost and at the end of the semester, I’d just put them back in the box and ship ‘em back.

It was the greatest thing ever.

Amazon Channels & Free 30-day premium Channel trials

Amazon channels let you subscribe to your favorite premium channel without having to have a cable subscription.

You can sign up here to try channels for free! Check out and find your new favorite shows on channels like HBO & SHOWTIME

I hope you found this helpful! If I missed something feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email. I love interacting with my readers. 🙂
